Health Equity

The Health Equity team brings together organizations and individuals who are directly concerned about the health of African Americans in our community.

The goals are to provide unique health-related events and programs that will motivate, educate and support the African American community, and provide a system of communication about available health resources locally, statewide and nationally.

Projects of the program include Roots and Heritage Festival Health Activities, Health Fairs, Health-related Presentations, Cultural Diversity workshops, the Weight-Loss Challenge at William Wells Brown Community Center, Aerobics for Seniors (age 50+) and coordination of the Health Equity Network and Sisters' Fighting BACC (Breast and Cervical Cancer).

For information on any of these programs, please call Jessica Jackson at (859) 288-2332 or send an email to Jessicar.Jackson@ky.gov
